The motivation behind what I do here at Matadors comes from the fact that I am helping these young ones access some opportunities which I was not able to get when I was their age, and trust me, it's so fulfilling. Here is Sunday one of our teenagers at the club and I am impressed with how good he is becoming by the day with his drawing skills. We also equip them with skills that will help them contribute meaningfully to their communities. I would have become better if that skill had been nurtured.Īt the Teenagers Leadership Club of Matadors Leadership Institute, we take our time to train and mentor and nurture teenagers so that the creativity in them will blossom and it can be channelled to productive endeavours. I took my pencil like every other student and started this mountainous task (lols). On the table in front of the class was an empty Coca-Cola bottle which was placed by the side of a bowl carrying some fruits like Paw-Paw and others. I remember vividly in GSS 3 when we had an incredible Fine Art teacher taking us through that subject, we had classwork where had to on the spot draw what was placed in front of us, a Still-life drawing. If I had nurtured my drawing skills, I believe today I would have been somewhat good in art( painting and drawing).
